Advantages: Some impressive jumpy moments, a little suspense Disadvantages: Just really disappointing overall
I have to say, with the digital age now upon us, and the analogue signal having been replaced in our TVs, I am very glad. There is no more white noise on the screen, that fuzzy black, grey and white mix often called 'snow' that we get once when the channel isn't tuned in properly: white noise. Having watched this film, if I was faced with white noise on the TV late at night, I might have a mind to look behind me, paranoid that something was going to 'get me' or that a figure would suddenyl appear in the screen, screaming its head off at me.
This is what the explorative film White Noise is all about. It starts off with a happy family living in a nice house, before tragedy strikes as Jonathan (Michael Keaton) comes home to find Anna (Chandra West) missing. As the time goes by, her body is discovered, and a period of mourning starts ...
Advantages: Some great games comming up Disadvantages: Noisy bit of kit with slow loading
The x-box360 is without a doubt a great bit of gaming kit. Although I have found a couple of issues with it. Firstly I have not come across a game that really pushes its graphics capability, although I am sure that as programmers get to grips with its potential power that it will prove to be a lot better then it appears now. The biggest gripe that I have with the X-box360 was the noise from the machine it self. It is the noisiest gaming console I have ever come across this is partially due to the fans used on the console and I m sure that if apple can sun silent machines then Microsoft must be able to as well. The disc drive is also a extremely noisy. The combination of these elements together means that you can not enjoy watching DVDs on it. Another issue with the machine is the power pack personally I would prefer a larger machine that ...
Advantages: Great performances and decent direction Disadvantages: A real missed oppertunity, scipt could have been developed so much better.
This weekend saw a rare night out to the cinema. We decided to see White Noise as it seemed to be focussed on an interesting subject matter. The film deals with Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP from now), where in a simple form Spirits contact the living through Static. It looked to be an interesting film and when it was suggested to me on Friday we both thought it would be something we?d enjoy. I?m starting to enjoy Horror films more these days and couldn?t see why I wouldn?t enjoy this, there is a lot of potential in the subject matter alone.
It starts off with the perfect American family. Jonathan (Michael Keaton) lives in a beautiful house with a white picket fence. Even his new wife and his Ex get on and his son seems to like everybody. When his new wife announces she?s pregnant you just know something is about to happen to one ...
