Non Stop Erotic Cabaret (Deluxe Edition) - Soft Cell

Advantages: One of the best musical scores ever; Joel Grey
Disadvantages: Not enough of the score...

...There are at least six professional recordings of Cabaret available, this being the recording from the 1972 film version featuring Joel Grey and Liza Minelli. It isn’t the best of the recordings available – that is a toss-up between the original Broadway album and the studio recording featuring Maria Friedman and Jonathan Pryce among others; nor is it the cheapest – the London revival cast recording with Wayne Sleep is a snip at five pounds. But it is probably the most readily available, and it is difficult to go too far wrong with Kander and Ebb’s fantastic score. The renditions of the songs here is absolutely fine, with authentic-sounding arrangements, which thankfully haven’t been beefed up due to Hollywood budgets. (Deluxe Edition) This is a double CD and is available for £12.99 on Amazon.co.uk I originally had a single version of this album until my home was burgled around 5 years ago and it was robbed. When the insurance company replaced the CD, they did so with this fabulous deluxe collection ~ result! "Legend" is a very apt description for a man who was a truly inspiring artist and held worldwide acclaim, generating a harmonious feeling of love and peace at his gigs. Unfortunately, Bob was taken from us a little too early, during May 1981, after an 8-month battle with the disease. ...announced that Leona will re-release Spirit with a couple of new songs. This is the album that I will now review. When I heard that Leona Lewis was releasing a 'newer' version of her number one album Spirit , I was curious. I already had a copy of the original version and was very pleased with it. My immediate thought when I heard about the 'deluxe' version was : 'what an easy way to make money out of the fans'. I decided , as much as I love Leona , I wasn't going to put more money into her pocket by purchasing something I already had with only one or two changes. So when my friend (who is also a massive fan of Leona) told me she had recently bought this album , I was desperate to know what all the fuss was about without parting with my hard earned cash , and so I asked her if I could borrow it.
