Melanie C in my eyes was always the most talented Spice Girls and having her branch off on her first solo album was great news. I was not let down, this debut solo album is amazing.
Go! A great start to the album, an upbeat slightly rocky tune, great rfaw vocals and a good start! nice title to go with the first song too! 7/10
Northern Star A brilliant ballad, about the carrer of Melanie C, her vocal talents sound amazing on the song, and i love it to bits. A brilliant 2nd single but also deserved to be number 1 rahter than 5. Still a good chart placing. 10/10
Goin' Down Melanie c goes rock and shocked alot of peopl with her first single. One of the best upbeat songs on the album, with rude lyrics a plenty, this song deserved a higher position in the charts, i love it 10/10
I Turn To You Another fantastic tune, a epic of a song which is quite slow an enchating, has some amazing sound effects and a great powerful chorus. This slow version is much better than the fast remix released as a single. 10/10
If That Were Me The 4th and final single from "Northern Star" is about homlessness and greed. A nice song but a pretty much avarage ballad which doesnt show off Melanie's great vocal talents. Some dodgy lyrics too. 6/10
Never Be The Same Again Melanie C's breakthough 3rd single and her first Solo number one, a nice American influenced R n B track with a rap from TLC's Lisa Left Eye Lopez which is one reason why this song was so big. Another would be its lyric content and for being a great original song 8/10
Why A futeristic type ballad, with great music and great strong vocals. Melanie c's voice really shines on this one and its a right beleter one of my faves from the album 9/10
Suddenly Monday The first real fun song on the album. A piano based tune which is short but big on style! with a great trumpet solo and great lyrics another showcase for Malenies amazing voice. This song is brilliant and provides great diverisity from the rest of the album 10/10
Ga Ga Another rock track that was the unoffical double a side to Goin' Down, the 2 songs are quite similar in sound i guess, not one of my faves but a good song none the less. 6/10
Be The One A soft ballad, that isnt like the other ballads on the album this is a simple pop ballad, and is sweet enough but nothing compard to the other futuristic ballads with great background music, simple, but nice 7/10
Closer The best song on the album, another epic song which is long, but never looses your attention, amazing music and strings are involved and Melanies voice sounds just incredable. This is once masterpiece. 11/10
Feel The Sun The final track on the album and a great song to end with. Another enchanting ballad with great lyircs also show off Melanies voice. The song completes the album in a perfect way and this is another outstanding song. 10/10
The most talented female singer by far, Melanie C proves that she is truly a star with this brilliant debut album. Great powerful vocals, great songs and great lyrics make this album a contender of one of the best albums of all time. This album is very mature and not something expected from a Spice Girl, but Melanie C really makes it into her own with this amazing album

Never Be The Same Again (Single Version) erm....i have no idea why this would be put on the re-release as it is virtually the same as the album version....still a great song mind!

I Turn To You (Hex Hector Radio Mix) There is a reason however for putting another version of this song onto the abum, the Hex Hector mix is the single version of I Turn To You and is a very fast, clubby song, unlike the slow enchanting original. I prefer the original but only by a little way, this version is great too and its hard to compare the two as they sound like different songs.
