Advantages: A simple funny story with amusing pictures Disadvantages: Possibly disturbing for parents
I find this picture book about a little boy trying to get attention from his parents very funny and rather sad and disturbing at the same time.
The story is very short with just one sentence below an illustration on each page ? the longest sentence is 14 words and most are a lot shorter. This review is probably longer than the book.
Bernard goes to talk to each of his parents in turn but they are preoccupied with other activities and don?t seem to have much time for him, and everything he says gets the same response, ?Notnow, Bernard?. He tells his mum he is going to be eaten by a monster and she apparently doesn?t listen or look, just says, ?Notnow, Bernard?. Bernard goes up to say hello to the monster in the garden, and the monster duly eats him. Then the monster takes on Bernard?s life, eating his dinner, watching ...
Advantages: Excellent Storyline, Cheap Prices, Disadvantages: Getting Medicine Can Become Tedious.

This is a sequel to the, in my opinion, excellent, FPS game Far Cry.
You start the game by choosing from a list of characters, each with there own 'perks', and then you are set free on a is st open world to search for and kill a man known as 'The Jackyl'.
The Jackyl is a arms dealer who provides the 2 war-ing factions in Africa with all the weapons they need, and in turns is turning the country into a warzone.
To find him, you must complete missions from both of the Factions until you are playing them off against each other and recieve intel on where the jackal is.
I was a huge fan of the original Far Cry game on the PC, and also really liked Far Cry Instincts Predator on the Xbox 360. So when I heard this game was being released I couldn't wait to play it. In a way I was slightly dissapointed with that ...
Advantages: Short, imaginative, appealing to children and adults, relates to people's experiences Disadvantages: Makes adults feel guilty
to think of it. It certainly made me as a parent smile a little wryly. How many times does the normal parent say NotNow as they rush to do something else? It seemed to me that David McKee understood this aspect of family life perfectly and worked on it to make a perfect little picture book story. Very few words but an idea that allows the reader to wonder what has exactly happened and what is about to happen.
