Not Far Now - Richard Shindell

Advantages: A simple funny story with amusing pictures
Disadvantages: Possibly disturbing for parents

...I find this picture book about a little boy trying to get attention from his parents very funny and rather sad and disturbing at the same time. The story is very short with just one sentence below an illustration on each page ? the longest sentence is 14 words and most are a lot shorter. This review is probably longer than the book. Bernard goes to talk to each of his parents in turn but they are preoccupied with other activities and don?t seem to have much time for him, and everything he says gets the same response, ?Not now, Bernard?. He tells his mum he is going to be eaten by a monster and she apparently doesn?t listen or look, just says, ?Not now, Bernard?. Bernard goes up to say hello to the monster in the garden, and the monster duly eats him. Then the monster takes on Bernard?s life, eating his dinner, watching... Read review

Advantages: Excellent Storyline, Cheap Prices,
Disadvantages: Getting Medicine Can Become Tedious.

...Far Cry 2 Xbox 360 This is a sequel to the, in my opinion, excellent, FPS game Far Cry. You start the game by choosing from a list of characters, each with there own 'perks', and then you are set free on a is st open world to search for and kill a man known as 'The Jackyl'. The Jackyl is a arms dealer who provides the 2 war-ing factions in Africa with all the weapons they need, and in turns is turning the country into a warzone. To find him, you must complete missions from both of the Factions until you are playing them off against each other and recieve intel on where the jackal is. I was a huge fan of the original Far Cry game on the PC, and also really liked Far Cry Instincts Predator on the Xbox 360. So when I heard this game was being released I couldn't wait to play it. Advantages: Good strong tracks

...believe what she sings, very, very competent. 14. You Made Me The Thief Of Your Heart No, not more angst, only this is a pale imitation of her better songs, more like pop angst. 15. Just like you said it would be Another from the first album, fantastic, in fact the more I write this review, the more I realise that the first album, Lion and Cobra is a classic, this album isn't. There are some fantastic songs that are, for some reason not included; 'Black boys on mopeds' for one. So to sum up, not the best so far in my opinion, but not far off. What the album does show well is the depth of her talent and the versatility of styles that she has from punk, to reggae, to jazz to almost classical singing. There is no doubt that she can sing, boy can she sing. I would give the album a 7/10, nothing to bad, but not a 'blow away' album... Read review
