When duran first started out they said they wanted to be a cross between chic and the sex pistols, by the time of this album thye had gone all out for chic and even got nile rogers back on board. By this time they had lost andy and roger taylor and most of there fans as well but they still had a lot of music left in them, jt bought back the energy from the power station and nick and simon the creative mood of arcadia, and tracks like american science, skin trade and notorious emerged, hold me is awful, but winter marches on would have made a great chritmas song, if it had been released as the double a side that it was supposed to be, this is a good album but not a classic
