Sorry to all you avid fans of the Now 48 compilation expecting to find an op on that captivating album, but i was desperate to write an op on Chesney Hawkes, and couldn't work out how to do it (doh!). One link between Now 48 and Chesney Hawkes is the fact that Chesney does not appear on it! anyone else outraged by this?? Okay, so the King of Pop (in my opinion) hasn't released anything for nearly 10 years, but who's counting??!!
Let the Chesney rant commence:
So, anyone reading this who loved the 1991 hit 'The one and only' by Chesney Hawkes.......take notice (drum roll please): CHESNEY'S MAKING A COME-BACK! yay!! If like me you feel that a 10year absence by Ches from our airwaves/tv screens is too much, worry not; Ches is soon to release a new single. The single is called 'Stay away baby Jane', and it's brilliant, don't let the dodgy title put you off, it's a catchy tune, so listen out fot it!
I personally think that Ches is certainly the one and only ( do you see what i've done there?? i crack myself up sometimes!), not only is he a great singer/songwriter/muscian, he is also a cracking actor; anyone who has seen the classic 'Buddy's Song' must agree. I strongly recommend this video, it's got a great soundtrack, provided by Chesney himself, and is generally an entertaining film (i rented it from my local library the other day for only £1, bargain city!!)
Anyway, as i was saying: Chesney's great!! at the moment he is carrying out a tour of great Britain. I have had the pleasure of seeing him twice, and also getting to meet him twice! I infact saw him on tour Monday night, and 'The One and Only' totally brought the house down. If he's playing anywhere near you, you should definately try to see him, it's usually cheap and you'll be guarenteed a good time! If you are thinking that you will only know one song, that Ches is a one-hit-wonder, worry not. He does a great set, including a brilliant cover of Supergrass' 'Alright', and loads of other catchy tunes that are easily learnt and 'sing-alongable'
REMEMBER: his new single is 'Stay Away Baby Jane' is out soon, so listen out for it. let's make his come-back a success! here's hoping that Rick Astley is next in line!!
Not a 'very helpful' op i know, but i NEEDED to inform you all of the Ches re-birth!!

whoa look at the difference in ratings you are getting. I don't know if I should be congratulating you for this op but I thought it was funny. Maybe the rest need to get a sense of humour - maybe for some bizarre reason they don't like Chesney Hawkes. I remember him releasing a second single but it didn't get very far but I thought it was rather good (shh don't tell any of the others) anyway i'll keep an eye out for the mole-faced one.I like your style Treeman
Advantages: Familiar brand, established formula, and unrivalled value-for-money. More than 40 hit singles for little more than the price of a chart CD. Disadvantages: You get the good and the bad, all jumbled up together. The lack of acts from outside the Warner/Sony/BMG labels.

Review of Now 48
Advantages: Some excellent rock ballads are present on this album. Powerful vocals throughout. Disadvantages: Bryan Adams has recorded better albums than this.
