When Now Dance 2000 was released a little over a year ago, I was immediately interested. I knew that the quality of the Now compilations was certainly above average to say the least, and as dance was and is one of my favourite genres of music, it caught my attention almost straight away. After receiving the album for Christmas 1999, I can say that it is one of the best, if not the best compilation album I have ever got. It is vibrant and energetic, and contains so many of the best hits of that year that it really is a must-have.
And this one beats it.
Now Dance 2001 contains 43 of the best tracks of pure dance from the year 2000 (ironically) across 2 Discs, and features big names such as Bomfunk MC's, Robbie Williams, Sonique and more! There is almost guaranteed to be something to suit everybody, from 'Rock DJ' to 'Tell Me Why', 'Silence' to 'Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)'. With 43 tracks, and considering you can buy this album
for about £13 with some bargain hunting, or maybe even less, the value per money per song is phenomenal, especially as, if you do buy it, it is likely to be because you would have bought some of the singles by themselves at up to £4 each, so, as I said, the value is immense.
The album also features some remixes of songs that I had previously not heard, including the Architechs' 'Body Groove' song, which interested me in particular.
Of course this album won't be for everyone. It is mostly aimed at people who like general pop and a bit of dance with it, hence artists such as Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears appearing on the album, although hard-core dance fans will appreciate it too, with less-well known artists such as Marc Et Claude and CRW appearing on the second disc.
The album features far too many songs to go through each one in particular, as followers of my opinions will have known me to do in the past, however, I am going to list the songs for your benefit, and, if you want any more information, the URL given on the album sleeve is http://www.dancesite.com
If you are going to buy this album anyway, then you are more than likely going to know all (or most) of the titles on the album anyway, so there isn't a great deal of point in doing it.
Here is Disc One:
1. Spice Girls - Holler 2. Britney Spears - Oops, I Did It Again 3. Modjo - Lady (Hear Me Tonight) 4. Spiller - Groovejet (If This Ain't Love) 5. Madison Avenue - Who The Hell Are You 6. If you don't know the tracks, then I wouldn't recommend you buy this album, but if these tracks ring the sound of pure gold in your mind, then this is the only album worth buying with your left over vouchers this year. It is as good as it sounds, nearly 3 hours of pure dance tunes. And with such value for money, even one disc would have sufficed. A must-have for all dance fans.

I have this too, a very good CD. Just my luck, it's only £9.99 in Woolies now, after I paid £14.99. Typical! Great op.xCathyx

Well-written op. Agree with your comments that this is for mainstream dance/pop fans rather than true clubbers. Robbie WIlliams is NOT dance music!!
