I love this CD. The songs may be over five years old now, but I think that they stand the test of time (in my lifetime anyway). The songs released nowadays under the "dance" genre all sound the same with no originality and are all about the same sort of stuff. I'll start off talking about CD One.
There is a range of different artists on here including Kylie Minogue, Justin Timberlake, Kelis, Blue, Atomic Kitten & Jamelia. I like how not all of the songs have been remixed and edited, and how most of the songs by the artists are the "originials". I don't like MC Jig's version of the Cha Cha Slide. It lacks the bounciness DJ Casper's had, and it doesn't feel right to try and do the Cha Cha Slide to it either. All in all, the first CD is good but not my favourite. I love CD Two!!
I find CD Two is the disc to switch on if you're having a party. The songs are amazing. You have LMC vs U2 with "Take Me To The Clouds Above". I don't know how to define this song, it's not overdone with synthesizers and effects. You have Ultrabeat's uplifting track "Feelin' Fine", Motorcycle's "As The Rush Comes"(quite a moody and dark tune), Lasgo's "Surrender", Kelly Llorenna's powerful vocals on "This Time I Know It's For Real", Northern Heightz's dancefloor hit "Look At Us", Despina Vandi's sensational and rhythmic "Gia", Tiësto's "Traffic" and Tube & Berger and Chrissie Hynde's collaboration on "Straight Ahead". I believe they've got the right mix of artists on here, providing a variety of styles within the "dance" genre. As always, there are some naff tracks on here from one hit wonders or people you've never heard of, but the balance of these and all the artists & songs listed above makes up for it.
I've never stopped listening to this CD and it is still one of my favourite CD's in my collection. If you can get hold of copy, go for it. This CD has decent songs on it, perhaps better tunes than some on similar complications released today. This is the CD needed at any party!!
