A few years ago, every regular indie gig-goer was probably aware of Rachel Stamp [and it is RachEl Stamp, by the way], and I wouldn't be surprised if most had seen them live too. They were a hard-touring band, and regularly topping 'best unsigned band' polls (including once beating Terrorvision - although in fairness perhaps many people forgot the Bradford lot were unsigned after being dropped by EMI). After a long string of previous singles (all included here), 'Hymns For Strange Children' - their self-funded/released debut - was eventually issued in February 2000 accompanied by yet another tour and new single. It's loosely pop-punky with a big dose of sleazy glam that drew comparisons to Placebo or a lighter, colourful King Adora (without their darker, harder edge). A wine with my stamp of approval

Advantages: complex and well balanced
Disadvantages: none

Happy ink stamping

Advantages: keeps hands fairly clean
Disadvantages: none

Not too long ago I used these Flair Melissa and Doug happy handle stamps and was impressed. These wooden ink stamps come in a set of 6 with an ink stamp pad which is divided into 6 and has 6 different coloured inks these are a non toxic child friendly ink. I can not comment about the ink as I used this set without the ink pad I think the ink pad was mislaid. This set comes in a good case to keep them in tidily after use. I liked these shaped wooden stampers they were easy to hold and I did not get my fingers messy with ink. This is because the chunky shaped wooden handle to the stamps is long enough so that you can keep fingers away from the stamp. The stamper is in fact a rubbery one fixed to the wooden handle.
