Album Reviews: Rolling Stone (8/30/01, p.124) - 3 stars out of 5 - "...Continues to mine past gold, integrating rock and jazz elements, and works Maxwell's beautifully supple vocals around old-school styles..."
...It’s soul. No, it’s jazz. Hang on, there’s some funk in here. I can’t decide what this album is, but I don’t care because frankly, it’s fantastic. This has quickly become one of my favourite albums of all time. The Urban Hang Suite is an ode to the joys of midnight love, but don’t let that put you off. Every single track is achingly beautiful and Maxwell’s voice is to die for – think Lenny Kravitz’s vocals, except sweeter and smoother. From the opening beats of The Urban Theme, to the closing fadeout of The Suite Theme I was completely hooked, and if you want any evidence of Maxwell’s talent, check out his cover of Kate Bush’s Whenever Wherever Whatever. I have never heard a cover so innovative or so well done....

Advantages: Excellent tracks from the decades! Disadvantages: Too many recent tracks on third disc
...If you are a NOW album collector like me or just want a piece of the history of NOW, you will not regret buying this album. This album is a 3 CD boxset and has songs from the 80s, 90s and the noughtys. The 80s music are on disc 1, 90s on disc 2 and the recent on disc 3. The tracks have been selected very well here.

I still have a record player and the vinyl versions of NOW which I have got.
With this compilation album, I could not believe that all the tracks are brilliant. None of them are ones that I do not know thankfully. All these tracks...

The Cover

The front cover of Now 68 is really bright, bold and colourful. It is a really simplistic design, and the use of colour on the cover is really eyecatching.
