Carter's Now or Never is a change of direction for this former teen star. As the lyrics to "I Stand for You" attest ("I'm gonna have a tattoo, I'm gonna have an attitude") the release is a predictable coming-of-age diversion into rock. Lurching between Nirvana-style grunge ("Help Me") and Bryan Adams soft rock ballads ("Do I Cry for You?" and "Heart Without a Home"), the album's unashamedly targeted at a pseudo-rebellious teen audience (although parents may enjoy the Adams-style compositions). With tracks such as "Girls in the America", "Miss America" and "Scandalicious" the rest of the album could easily provide the soundtrack to any upcoming teen flick. "Blow Your Mind" is the one standout track on the album, which opens as a simple piece of electronica but explodes into a rock epic. Though written and produced by some of the record industry's greatest (including Gary Clark and Teddy Riley), however, "Now or Never" always uncomfortably misses the mark. --John Galilee

BSB ARE TERRIBLE Review ofBackstreet Boys - Backstreet Boysby
kchupqueen
Advantages: Nick Carter is the only thing that makes the band look attractive Disadvantages: Their music is unorigional and used to meake money of innocent teenage girls.
...Hi everybody! I have to say that the Backstreet Boys are terrible! their music is completely awful! Their music is clesea and far too 'soppy' for my liking! I have no idea how anyone could ever liek this band! Anyone who even remotely praises them is wasting their time! They are old, hairy and half of them are married or soon to be so all of you girls out there have no chance! And that goes for NickCarter too because lets just say he don't care much about girls. I have never found any of their music the least bit origional. It is only produced so that they can make money out of stupid, defenseless teenage girls. Do your self a favour and don't ever buy any of their albums, singles, or merchandise because it is a total waste of your money! The only good thing about this band is that NickCarter is in it, but don't get your hopes up!...

Advantages: Amazing tracks with a lot of feeling Disadvantages: Disadvantages? In this album? No way!
...A few years ago I wouldn't have even said Justin's name without feeling sick. I was your average Backstreet Boys fan and *Nsync hater. I was in with all the rivalry thing (although I was secretly in love with 'Pop' and 'Gone'). I wasn't terribly excited about Justin having a solo career, I was more excited about NickCarter. But one day I turn on the tv to this catchy r'n'b tune called 'Like I Love You' and as much as I tried to make myself turn over, I couldn't do it. After that moment I realised how petty I had been with the BSB rivalry.. oh yeah, and how HOT Justin Timberlake is! At first I was rather reluctant to buy the album, but then I though 'what harm will it do? NickCarter will never know!" So I got it. It was amazing... literally AMAZING. Such a variation of different types of music. Songs that make you smile, songs that make...

Nothing's gonna harm you....... Review ofSweeney Todd (The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street/Highlights Edition) - Various Artistsby
Sophie-Kaia
Advantages: An enjoyable album with catchy melodies and haunting lyrics Disadvantages: slightly sinister
...as Benjamin Barker and has now re-invented himself as "Sweeney Todd" , maddened by his sad life and tortured by time, he starts to sing faster, in a more furious way about his lfe and what could have been -- an up tempo, frantic turn to the song.....before relaxing back in to the ballad. A peice sang well by Depp.

(Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter)
Benjamin Barker, now Sweeney decides that his only friends now are his "tools' of his trade --he was a successful barber and has given up on everything else apart from his razors.
Looking at the polish on his tools of the trade, Todd sings this haunting melody after Mrs. Lovett re-introduces Todd to "his friends" after all this time.....
"These are my friends.
See how they glisten.
See this one shine...
How he smiles in the light.
My friend."
