Between the family we own pretty much all of the Now Cds, dating quite far back anyway. The Now Thats What I Call Music!... collection is a collection of CD albums released seasonally filled with all the hits from the past few months. Although people do not tend to get as excited about these because of downloads, YouTube and what have you, they are still something to have in the collection and can be treasured for years to come!
Now: 71 was released towards the end of 2008, just in time for people to outstock the shops, as it is an ideal Christmas present! The cover is very attractive! Is is filled with presents of every colour to lure you closer, showing just what a treat and gift this is! Bowsing the back you will notice there are forty five tracks spread out on two discs. Now I will not go into detail about each one but I shall describe some of my favourites to you!
Some of the tracks are quite upbeat with a strong tempo, such as The Promise - Girls Aloud (CD1, Track 1). This is a perfect song to start the album off! I actually have this song on the GA album too, but still listen to it on here too! It was released late last year and, although did not get as high in the charts as some of the Girls' hits, it still did fairly well. It has a very catchy rhythm, perfect for blasting around the house!
Another in this category is When I Grow Up - Pussycat Dolls (CD1, Track 8). I first heard this song on the film House Bunny, and fell inlove with it straight awya, so I was thrilled to find it was on this album! Its chorus is especially catchy; "I wanna be famous, wanna be a star...!". I cant get enough of it! (Think I will wear out this CD soon!).
Shut up And Let Me Go by the Ting Tings is on CD2, Track6. There is something special about this one. It is not something I would usually listen to, not really 'pop' enough for me, but still a magical track! Definitely one of the first you should listen to on this album!
These are just three of the tracks on the album, but already you should have an idea of the sort of new music which is stored for you. So what is this album good for? As I already said, it makes a fantastic gift for somebody, but also is fantastic for listening to and treating yourself with! It is good for a party too, with a lot of amazing tracks to get things started!
I am unsure how much we paid for our copy, but you can buy it on HMV.com for £12 (likely to be a little more in store), which is a fantastic price! That's, what, 30p a track! Much cheaper than downloading from iTunes!
This is an amazing album, with something for everybody! Definitely one for the CD collection! Of course if you are already a fan of the 'Now Thats What I Cal Music' collection then your CD collection would not be complete without this, but even if you are just looking for a one-off with a good range of songs, this is well worth it!
