Now You're Gone is his third album and features all the Basshunter trademarks: repetitive bleeps and beats, euphoric vocals and surging choruses. The record pummels away at the cerebellum with a relentless flow of unchanging beats, formulaic builds/drops and tacky covers such as KC and The Sunshine Band's "Please Dont Go". After a couple of tracks the album seems to blur into one long Basshunter anthem. Basshunter, known as Jonas Erik Altberg, the Swedish DJ. At first, he did sound a bit different to all the other Techno/Electronic artists out there due to his use of the music mixing program "Fruity Loops Studio". However, his album seems to be the same all the way through with a change of lyrics and notes ever so often. The videos to his hits "Now You're Gone", "All I Ever Wanted", "I Miss You" & "Angel In The Night" are consistent with their story, but people dancing around half naked really doesn't do it for me!

Originality & Lyrics
In some ways it is similar to other electronic styled music but in others it was different. The way he actually makes his music is different with the computer program "Fruity Loops" and using the program myself, I know it can be difficult to get to grips with it and make some decent material. However, the lyrics and theme of the music is the same as a lot of these european artists out there and so from that point of view, his music doesn't stand out. He collaborates with the UK singer Lauren Dyson on a few of his tracks (eg. I Miss You, Love You More, Dream Girl), which does help to split the song up a bit. The lyrics are based around the love theme again, mostly Basshunter singing about a girl and how wonderful she is or how he wants her. Bit like your average song. I guess the language barrier doesn't really help either, as the English seems a bit basic in the songs. It didn't sound bad though. It's either track 10 or 11 that's nearer five minutes long and so that breaks through the Basshunter time barrier of just under or around three minutes. You'll probably pick this song up.
Quality & Consistency Of tracks
Like I said above, the tracks are more or less the same all the way through. if you are looking for the songs that stand out on here, listen to Dota, Boten Anna & Russia Privjet. They still have the typical Basshunter beat, but they are sung in Swedish and a little bit of Russian with the case of Russia Privjet (it's like a couple of lines, it's like an "instrumental" song). The songs on here sound so similar to each other, you don't really know when one finished and another began.
Value for Money
I got it for £7.99 when Woolworths was still around and I guess this price is good for what you get. You get a booklet inside the CD instead of just a two sided cover. You have four bonus tracks too, which adds some variation to the CD. Now, you get get it on Amazon for £4.98.
I don't know what his new album is like so I cannot compare until I get it, but I presume that his second one will be better than this one. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a lot of an artists debut albums aren't great and they really progress with their second. So, maybe this isn't the album you were waiting for and although the songs may be a hit in the clubs for youngsters, it may be just that.
...from his UK debut album Now YOu're Gone and is extremely popular with the younger generation and those like myself that wanted to listen to something that took them back to their younger clubbing days.
I was curious to listen to this album, although I am probably a little too old now for this kind of music, years ago I quite liked the tracks from Ultrabeat, although they do become extremely annoying and the lyrics are rather dire, in comparison ... ...Track Listing

Advantages: Quite a lot of tracks, catchy, orginal songs Disadvantages: Some of the tracks are pretty bad, but in a funny way!
...am definitely a fan. Now You're Gone (the album) has a good number of tracks on it, making it good value for money and I like the fact that the songs do have lyrics which at least make sense (more than i can say of Scooter, for example). Another personal plus for me is the fact that Basshunter aka jonas altberg is swedish - his accent is quite clear in his singing voice which makes the songs more interesting to listen to. The songs which have actually ... ...of my favourites and makes Basshunter stand out in comparison with cheesy dance acts who seem to only perform covers. The lyrics of the songs themselves are admittedly not groundbreaking, but that's not the reason I'd listen to the album anyway. This album should be about going out, having fun and having a dance, so if you're looking for amazing, meaningful lyrics or something chilled out then this isnt really where to find it.
