If you are only going to buy one Iron Maiden Album, make it this one. It's got everything you could ask for; pounding bass lines, galloping drum beats, ear piercing gitar riffs, satanic lyrics and - above all- collosal energy. The vocals seem to have been inspired by issues that perhaps only the rage of heavy metal can do honest justice; the fear of execution, escape from the Powers That Be, flight from murderous barbarian hordes, the terrorism of European settlers on native American Indians, and - of course - satanic orgies. While Iron Maiden may lack the instumental skills and innovation of Black Sabbath, they adequately compensate in sheer energy and rock.
