Its been a mere 2 years since these guys put a compilation together. This new one, Number One's' features a whopping 19 chart toppers, world wide! In there is a tribute to Maurice Gibb who died last year - Man In The Middle- sung by the man himself!
Iv always had the attitude that the Bee Gees songs were great! But only when sung by other, more voaclly gifted artists! Much like Abba- their stuff was great when it was performed a few years ago by new younger, vocally gifted artists!
Anyway, most of the time you cant go wrong with their tunes, despite the high pitched voices and chessy 70's disco lyrics, along with their bad taste in style. However their success is shown in the fact that most of the songs they have truned out have become timeless classics.
As you have gathered the Bee Gee's are not my thing, however they have potentially 16 out of 20 good/listenable tracks on this compliation.
If you dont have a Bee Gees section in your collection, if there is one to have this is probably it. I would think in years to come it may be worth your investment!
