...As the first music review that I’ve written for which I can give very little background information on the band (something I’ve become known for doing), I am fully aware that this may not go down as well. What information I know on the band is scratchy at best, if not incorrect, so you shall have to settle for a straight opinion on the album this time round. Michael Stipe, admired from a far by my personal favourite Kurt Cobain, is a man that has been through a lot of difficult timesin his life, yet has continued to churn out classic hits one after another, culminating in this collection of the very best, titled ‘InTime - The Best of REM 1988-2003’. All the big hitters rear their ugly head at some time or another, as well as couple that I hadn’t had the pleasure of previously hearing, yet am delighted to have been able to do so this...

Advantages: Superb music by the first great female.rock.band to go mainstream. Disadvantages: No lyrics. Band members don't get a penny from this anthology.
...the last holdouts, and a final effort of a much-changed band still sporting the 'Fanny' label would come out not from Reprise Records, but from Casablanca. The supreme irony for Fanny is that the single 'Butter Boy' from 'Rock 'N' Roll Survivors' (1975) would be Fanny's highest-ranking chart-maker of all. The times, in my view, grew too weird for the direction (or lack of it) that the band took, to say the least. I recall few memorable tunes from that album, and much has been written on the discomfiting mix of June's substitute and lead guitar player Patti Quatro (Suzi's older sister) with the rest of the Fanny members at that time. Alice had decided to leave when Patti came on board. 'Rock 'N' Roll Survivors' would be the last gasp of the group that went by the name of 'Fanny.' And despite 'Butter Boy''s chart success, there was no more band...

Advantages: Some great tracks, and a great cover Disadvantages: A few, slower tracks
...... right?! The image of Manson has thus created an image of his audience. But let me put it straight. I know of several people, including myself, who listen to Manson. None of us are particularly abnormal, and we can all vouch that his music is nothing disimilar to the music millions of people listen to everyday!
I think a little background info may be in order.
Marilyn Manson was born on January 5th 1969, and is less popularly known by his real name Brian Hugh Warner. He is the lead singer of an industrial metal group also called Marilyn Manson. Marilyn created his name by merging Marilyn Monroe, and Charles Manson.
Brian was born in Canton, Ohio where he attended Heritage Christian School, so it is more than surprising to know he is an honorary Reverend in a Church of Satan. The irony and controversy of this can only be said to have...
