Full review
Obsession captures anger, self-hatred and helplessness very well, in songs written on pure emotion. Sounds depressing? Not at all, the album is written in a way that prevents it from being a self-pity festival, and can at some points be very uplifting.

Musically 'Obsession' shows off a variety of styles, bordering on metalcore/hardcore, and melodic rock. The song 'Tower of Snakes' shows 18V producing a hardcore masterpiece, whilst the much more melodic 'Said and Done' shows their talent for creating a much mellower and relaxing closing track.

18V are a breath of fresh air on the metal scene with expensive hair cuts and an immaculate dress sense!! The explosive energy displayed during an 18V live set is also captured on the album, something that is often forgotten by bands. I would particularly recommend this album to fans of Lostprophets, but whatever your taste, keep your walls shaking all night with this record, you won't regret it!!
