Advantages: 12 amazing, original punk rock songs Disadvantages: none!!
Off the charts is the follow up to The Briefs debut album 'Hit after hit' and unlike a lot of punk rock bands they havent strayed away from their original sound. A lot of bands veer towards sounding like more mainstream pop music after their first album but The Briefs still sound (and look) like they should have been playing in the 70's when punk rock was at its peak! There is a good mix of songs, with singalongs like 'we americans' and up tempo ... ...you dancing. There is even a cover of 'The Adverts' song 'Gary Gilmore's eyes' with the lyrics amusingly changed to 'Looking through Gary Glitters eyes'.
If you think Punk rock is dead then this album will prove you wrong, The Briefs bring the up-tempo, fun feel of original 70's punk rock bands back to life and then add their own modern touch to create an all round amazing must have album. ...

...Franz Ferdinand are a scottish indie rock outfit who's first alum, called 'Franz Ferdiand, was extrememly popular and oeaked at number 3 in the UK album charts.
This second album was always going to have a burden of high expectations, but I believe Franz Ferdinand have pulled it off. They entered the UK charts at number 1 and even the US charts at number 8, becoming a worldwide success.
A brief guide to the tracks:
The Fallen
Starts the album off with a bang. Some fantastic guitar riffs and sounds similar to some of thier brilliant old stuff. Good to sing along to also.
Do you want to
Probably a bit overplayed but easily one of the best songs on the album. Is very popular and is the best song on the album to sing to. Good rhythm and good to dance to. You'll either love it or hate it.
This boy
The music sounds like 90s...

...A*teens were always going to have a hard job coming back with new material after thier debut album 'Abba - The next generation' as critics had already dubbed them a 'covers' band who couldn't produce anything of their own worthy enough to be a hit. Wrong. This, their 2nd album, hasn't 1 cover version in sight just 13 perfectly produced pop gems. Here's a brief track low down of the album.
1 Upside down - This is the first single released off the album and stormed into the charts at no.10. Very uptempo pop with a strong feel-good vibe from start to finish.
2 ...to the music - Carries on where track 1 left off if a little less uptempo. Future hit for sure.
3 Halfway round the world - This track is one of the highlights of the album. A fast beat, irresistable chorus and soaring vocals make this another sure fire hit.
4 Firefly...
