If your a Pantera fan and you haven't seen them live this is the CD to buy.
It is shows many tracks of which will never be played again live by the original guitarist Dimebag Darrell. This really shows his character in how he plays guitar in a live environment.
All the guitaring is played beautifully as dime whales and whale.
All Pantera fans should own this CD if they don't or you don't and you like Pantera, you should buy it, or if u don't like Pantera and u like killer guitar it is still worth buying to listen to Dimebag play!
The front cover is like a old westen bar poster kinda style with the title in big gold letters, the CD design is of a simular look with the gold writing with Pantera writen on the top of the CD and the title at the bottom.
This is a must buy for all metal head and heavy rockers alike!
Advantages: Great band Disadvantages: Terrorists Suck
Last month, I was thoroughly looking forward to Tattoo The Planet (Featuring Pantera, Slayer, Cradle Of Filth, Static-x, Biohazard, Therapy, Raging speedhorn etc...)
The bands I was really going for were Pantera (Mainly) Slayer and Static X.
The week before the scheduled show at Wembley Arena (September 15th) I was thoroughly excited about seeing such great bands.
Then, on September 11th, the world stopped. Sick terrorists decided it would be ... ...the WTC, sacraficing thousands of innocent lives, and bringing the whole world's air travel to a stop.
Due to this, Tattoo The Planet had to be postponed, which I could understand, and had no problem with.
However, Pantera decided that the new date for Tattoo The Planet (October 14th) Was not for them, and have now dropped out.
I fully sympathise with every family of those lost in the disaster, but Pantera should of worked harder to maintain their ...

Album Notes
OFFICIAL LIVE: 101 PROOF contains live versions of Pantera hits as well as two new studio tracks. Pantera: Philip Anselmo (vocals); Dimebag Darrell (guitar); Rex Brown (bass); Vinnie Paul (drums). Engineers: Aaron "Wires" Barnes, Vinnie Paul. "Cemetery Gates" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. After seven long years of almost non-stop touring, Pantera personally chose these 16 songs as the creme de la creme, the definitive live Pantera experience. All well and good, we can only hope the folks up front had kneepads and mouthpieces, because this is not for the faint of heart. This is incendiary thrash metal; full-speed-ahead sonic mayhem, from the churning grunge of "Becoming" to the jackhammer assault of "Hostile." "New Level," the disc's opener, pretty much defines the experience here; vocals are shouted rather than sung, drums are attacked with fury and vengeance, guitars scream and churn and ring out like the very bells of Hades...well, you get the idea. There are two new songs here as well, which the band recorded during a 12-day break in their hectic tour schedule.
Album Reviews
Rolling Stone (9/18/97, p.108) - 3 Stars (out of 5) - "...Militaristic beats, jagged riffs and tortured guitar squalls are intertwined with Phil Anselmo's rabid-drill-sergeant vocals....even the slowest tracks broil with tightfisted fury..." NME (9/20/97, p.57) - "...The heavy tunes have the stealth of hardcore techno and the skull-imploding impact of a collapsing tower block. The very heavy tunes sound like a jumbo jet crashing into your house. Hairy balled maximum security metal doesn't get any more appallingly powerful than this..."
