...The Red Hot Chili Peppers are quite new to me - I had heard of them, but I wasn't a particular fan, and hadn't heard a lot of their songs. But then the album By The Way became really popular and By The Way and The Zephyr Song become really big hits, and I decided to download some of their earlier stuff from KaZaA. Otherside, Californication and Scar Tissue were the ones I downloaded (from the album Californication) and I liked all three. One friend lent me a copy of By The Way and I loved it! I went out and bought it from HMV the next day. A quick overview: the band consist of Anthony Kiedis (vocals), Flea (bass guitar), Chad Smith (drums) and a guitarist but I can't remember his name! Advantages: lots of styles, lots of moods, can really get into it, excellent lyrics
Disadvantages: explicit language, can't be fully appreciated just in the background

.... Personally I don?t find it offensive, nor unnecessary in the context, but I can understand why others might. Also, if you?re not keen on sad, serious songs some of these, probably most of these, won?t suit. Many of them have a sad melody, a pining, hankering feel, or melancholy lines telling of lost loves and grief. The only down-point for me is that, inevitably, a few of the songs don?t have the same magic for me as the others, namely ?This Is The Place?, ?Don't Forget Me?, ?Throw Away Your Television? and ?Venice Queen.? But that?s all subjective; they just don?t resonate with me like the others do, so I?m being petty really. I don?t dislike them enough to skip the track, which is quite a rare feat for such a long album of 16 songs in total. ...leave it hanging around it will blow up. (Well, that?s what They tell you. And we know why). Next day you see you?ve missed a bit, often by an ear. You were careful there. You didn?t want a funny coloured ear, and kids in the supermarket whining, ?Muuuuuum, why is that lady?s ear like that?? Even if this doesn?t happen, in about two weeks your roots are showing through. Can you just touch in these bits in at modest cost ? No. You can?t. Either you stay piebald or you buy another whole pack, and at anything from £3.99 to £8.99 it?s no joke. Why, oh, why can?t They sell little touch-up kits ? MOTORWAYS Why aren?t these designed by people who use them, or at the very least drive a vehicle? Take the one a few miles from my home. It?s the M40, and a Granada service station is there.
