Advantages: Great songs, use of instruments and brilliant innovative style Disadvantages: Some parts seem to drag on a bit
loud classical and opera style. This is what regains your previously lost interest in the music. Consequently, the CD returns to its previous glory of a rock and up beat masterpiece with a brilliant slow guitar solo at the end of track six. Furthermore, as the CD progresses to near the end of the second disk, the music has one final wave of changing from a chanting pattern to a sudden stop continuing with a piano melody and in turn progressing to a theatre production style of song resembling songs from ?Oliver? or something similar. Finally, the album rounds off with a slow, thought-provoking set of lyrics together with a flute melody similar to the very first track on the album.
Overall, although it is a very long album, it is clear that PinkFloyd really put a lot of effort into writing this album as it is rightfully a musically ...
Advantages: Warm soothing solos and really great lyrics. Disadvantages: None
This is an another incredible album made by the pinkfloyd. Apart from the lyrics the solos that David Gilmour plays are fantastic as well. The song called The Final Cut in the album has amazing lyrics and to top it off towards the end, the solo that David Gilmour plays is just incredible. Wright's unofficial replacement for the making of the album was maestro Michael Kamen. Having worked previously on The Wall, Kamen seemed fitting to provide the orchestral support to Waters' songs. His work on The Final Cut is mostly superb, with tracks like The Post War Dream and The Fletcher Memorial Home providing great examples of his studious support. This is my one of their favorite albums they have made. ...
Advantages: Five inspired pieces of creative studio work Disadvantages: Born out of a great loss of personal input from a departed leader
factory, presses another buzzer and the pulse of the machine from behind the door thunders louder as we hear another door open. It is questioned where the direction was pointing when Roger Waters wrote this futuristic, harsh piece. Through the lyrics we can hear perhaps another tribute to the downfall of Barrett, but we must remember that by the time this album was recorded, the flattened, worn out, crushed spirited PinkFloyd were yet another super group to become disillusioned with touring and screaming to crammed stadium audiences who wailed so much that they couldn't have possibly heard the band above the din. Like The Beatles had retreated to the studio for something for them, PinkFloyd had become distant to the world and Waters couldn't bear the stadium thought again. Ironically what they had created with this album was another run up ...

Album Notes
The mammoth 16-disc box set OH BY THE WAY was released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd's first album. It contains every one of Floyd's studio albums, each packaged in a miniature-LP-style sleeve. It's the most exhaustive overview one could ask for, chronicling the band's beginnings as pioneering psychedelic scenemakers through their '70s tenure as prog-rock merchants and their latter-day reincarnation as grand old men of British rock. While rarities-seekers should be advised of the lack of bonus/previously unreleased tracks here, there's so much dazzling material that it doesn't really matter. Pink Floyd were the original psychedelic space cadets, and the thrill of their early acid-rock forays under Syd Barrett's baton is all the more intense when it brushes up against Roger Waters-helmed concept pieces like ATOM HEART MOTHER and DARK SIDE OF THE MOON. The band's post-Waters material adds a dignified final chapter to the story, with David Gilmour shining in the spotlight. The Floyd catalog, considered as a whole, contains some of the most innovative music ever released under the umbrella of rock, and OH BY THE WAY is a classy and convenient way to absorb it all.
