Simply: this is one of the greatest albums ever made, but I still don't know if the bends is better. Intelligent, if by their admission overlong, tour de force of the most innovative British band in the last thirty years. Paranoid Android - Johnny's furious solo, that classic squelching noise, a true all time great. Lucky, No Surprises, Karma Police and Exit Music are all quite and deadly songs, simple at the core but craftfull at the end. Electioneering just rocks, plain and true, whilst Climbing Up The Walls is a genius uneasy listening track. Airbag starts with a ripcurl off a riff and you know it's good. Let Down, Subterranean Homesick Alien (surely inspired by Subterranean Homesick Blues - Bob Dylan in the 60's - if only in name) and The Tourist all have their upbeat place. BUT WHY OH WHY OH WHY did they put on track seven??? Fitter Happier, IF on there at all should have been at the end, after a five minute gap, not slapped in the middle. It is good to listen to, once maybe even twice, but by the third time we are starting to fit and are difinately not happier. Good lyrics on it but still doesn't make up for it. A freind of mine bought the album, but burned a copy without track seven, Radiohead ought to have done the same..
