It's like you're there on opening night!
Review of Oklahoma - 1998 London Cast Recording by tekaybe

Advantages: Better sound quality than older versions
Disadvantages: You don't get to see the impressive acting that goes with it

...An excellent cast singing their hearts out! This CD is the official cast recording from the 1998-1999 London West End run of Oklahoma!, and of course has all the tracks from the original 1950's version: the exhillarating "Oklahoma!"; the amusing duet "People Will Say We're In Love"; the rousing "Oh What A Beautiful Morning'". The stunning cast includes one young Hugh Jackman (later star of X-Men and Van Helsing) as Curly, and Maureen Lipman as Aunt Eller. This CD gives, naturally, a better quality sound (being digitally recorded) than the original 1950's version does, yet ones still gets a sense of actually being in the packed auditorium on opening night! The poroduction won various awards for the run, including: - the Olivier Award for "Outstanding Musical" - the Evening Standard Awards - the Critics Circle awards for "Best... Read review

Review of Read My Mind - Reba McEntire by Tea65

Advantages: Great singer with a powerful voice
Disadvantages: Not everybody likes this kind of music

...This is the first review on my all time favourite Country Music Artist...Reba McEntire, so I hope that I do her and her wonderful music justice. THE LADY HERSELF ----------------------------- Reba McEntire was born on the 28th March 1955 in Chokie, Oklahoma. She grew up on a cattle ranch and often toured various rodeos with her parents and siblings due to her father being a champion calf roper. Herself and her brother and sister toured the country together as the Singing McEntires. She signed a record contract with Mercury Records back in 1975 and her career has gone from strength to strength. Reba McEntire also has her own biography published by Bantam Books and the books titled Reba - My Story. Reba has appeared in many films, the most memorable one is Tremors but others include,The Little Rascals and One Night at Mc... Read review

We Shall Overcome The Seeger Sessions
Review of Bruce Springsteen: We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions by the_enlightened_one

Advantages: ok for a few listens
Disadvantages: I was not impressed

...I was not impressed to be honest..I was hoping for some old school springsteen. I listened to the first cd and it was ok...But i found after a few listens i started to skip certain tracks. Its not one of his best cds..which is a let down for me as i am quite a fan of "the boss". If you have never heard of springsteen then this album is not a great introduction to him. Personally i would recomend his hits then work from there..or even "born in the usa" is a classic. Overall...not his best work !! Track Listings Disc: 1 1. Old Dan Tucker 2. Jessie James 3. Mrs. McGrath 4. O, Mary, Don't You Weep 5. John Henry 6. Erie Canal 7. Jacobs Ladder 8. My Oklahoma Home 9. Eyes On The Prize 10. Shenandoah 11. Pay Me My Money Down 12. We Shall Overcome 13.
