Advantages: Nice place to walk or play sports, a good open space in the city Disadvantages: Can get busy in summer, not a good place to visit in the rain!
**** What are the meadows? ****
The meadows is basically the name given to a large park on the south side of the centre of Edinburgh. It is a large flat open area of grass and is popular with all age-groups. It extends for approximately 58.4 acres and is less than a mile away from the centre of town.
The meadows backs on to what used to be the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh which was Edinburghs main and oldest hospital. This has now been moved to an area on the outskirts of town and the hospital is undergoing redevelopment as Quartermile a development of upmarket apartments. Some of these will have a wonderful outlook over the meadows.
**** The History of the Meadows ****
The Meadows were originally the site of Borough-Loch which was one of the main water supplies for the Edinburgh?s Old Town. Over the years the Loch ...

Advantages: girly girls will like it, not as bad as some books coming in such collections Disadvantages: money-spinning emptinesss
in the books.
The girls are reasonable female role models: despite the fluffiness of the fairy theme, they girls are quite sensible, but also adventurous, independent and brave. They are, indeed, very sketchy but fairly accurate depiction of fairly typical British middle-class 8 to 9 year olds, and thus aspirational to the (younger) target readership.
The books are suitable for girls aged 4 to the maximum of about 8, but the top age would depend on the child. I would be a bit concerned if a normal 11 year old showed marked interest in the Rainbow Magic series, though.
Is it recommended? A hard question, really.
For non-readers there is certainly many more better books out there and there is nothing about the Meadows offering that makes it particularly worthwhile. On the other hand they are harmless enough and young girls ...

Advantages: More choice/variety when shopping, good restaurants, good leisure, things for teenagers to do Disadvantages: Some people don't like the Meadow, say all shops in Wrexham have moved there and it is now empty
).
Then as you walk through the clothes shops you walk past are:
*JD Sports
*River Island
*Jane Norman
*H&M
*Dorothy Perkins
*Burton
*Topshop/Topman
*La Senza
*Next
*M&S
*Wallis
*Bank
The shops to me are all really good and as every time I go to Eagles Meadow it's always busy they seem to be doing well. Since Eagles Meadow has been built there is so much more choice and variety it makes my shopping experience in Wrexham a much better one. This has to be the biggest advantage of Eagles Meadow, the fact that there is more choice and variety, and because of this I'm glad Wrexham now has an Eagles Meadow and the people of Wrexham don't have to rely on the old shops which weren't any where near as good as the new ones in my opinion.

Album Notes
The guitar bruisers in Dead Meadow dropped OLD GROWTH in early 2008 a year after relocating to the City of Angels from Washington D.C. One of the bands most committed to extolling the unflagging power of the riff, Dead Meadow have made an album that simply explodes with one guitar-driven epiphany after another. Though the songs have a sprawling quality--enhanced by guitarist/vocalist Jason Simon's heroic acid-drenched solos--they remain compact and smartly written, expertly shifting in tone and texture from swampy darkness to a righteous head-banging apex, with bits of singer-songwriter jangle in between. OLD GROWTH is one of the earliest indie gems of 2008.
