Unfortunately after Buddy's death, his Manager, Norman Petty hired the Fireballs, who overdubbed much of the original guitar and music by Buddy & the Crickets. The result is that the original music is so far back in the mix, they might as well have not bothered! Not a great fan of these albums in the slightest. I can be over critical where music is concerned as it is my main hobby and has been since i was around five. I am an avid collector of vinyls and cd's and love everything and anything from 1942 to present day....but i would give this album a miss. ...using the original group's recordings that was probably recorded a long time after they actualy had a hit with it, thats how you can pick these albums up for a few quid. I am not saying that this is how this one is produced, but there isnt many well known tracks for the average listener. ...in my CD player at the same time as boy band music and cheesy 80's pop. I'm particularly fond of Soul, Motown & Funk with a healthy dollop of Disco thrown in. Disadvantages: A few not so great

...declaring that it is a Top of The Pops Album, with this letting enclosed to make it appear like a circle. The BBC logo is also detailed but this is hardly prominent either. In red lettering at the bottom of the circle the album stipulates the 80s, and provides details of a selection of artists in white lettering across the bottom of the album cover. As I say it is hardly capturing the imagination. So if the album cover didn't grab your attention ...
