Advantages: Original songs well-written and played Disadvantages: Couple of weak tracks
Above all others, this CD is definitely The Kinks at their very best. Their enthusiasm for their music clearly shows through.
Penned by Ray Davies, the songs still have as much appeal, to music fans of that era, as they did when they were first recorded back in the 60's. Four particular songs stand head and shoulders above the rest:
'You Really Got Me', purely for its foot-stomping, four-chord rhythm.
'Lola' which shocked a generation that had ... ...before.
'Dedicated Follower of Fashion' which accurately summed up fashion-concious London in the Sixties.
Lastly, and arguably the best, 'Waterloo Sunset'. Hearing those descending notes on the guitar from the opening bars, you know instantly that you are going to hear a great song. One that, once heard, will never be forgotten.
Although the other numbers on the album cannot hope to live up to the standard of these four, they nevertheless stand ...

I love Elvis Presley soooooo much. i'm even named after his daughter. His legend and his music still live on today amd remain with us till the end of mankind.In my opinion i would suggest this cd to anybody because it is a really good cd. Brilliant!!! This whole concept is amazing! The Sex Presleys take some of Elvis' best songs, rearrange them, and play them as if the Sex Pistols would have played them. It's a bizarre and fantastic mix that rocks even harder than the Sex Pistols did... really! I've been grabbing for this cd over my "Never Mind the Bullocks" for the past few weeks. "Teddy Bear" takes "Anarchy in the UK" and makes it move and rock way harder than the Pistols ever did. ... ...with "Pretty Vacant" for what I think is the best song on the disc. It starts out with a huge sounding version of "Pretty Vacant" then launchers you into a wild Elvis ride that you have to listen to again and again.
"Heartbreak Hotel" is layered over "God Save the Queen" and works so incredibly well that I wouldn't even believe that the two were separate songs and the Sex Presleys version was a weird cover if I wasn't familiar with the material.
