Advantages: Two Excellent albums together Disadvantages: The sleeve.
...being slightly better. Saw Dean live six years ago and he played lots of stuff from these albums. The big number three hit Lucky Stars featuring Denise Marsa is included, as well as minor (but should have been big) hit Lydia, and the ones that should have been hits Woman Of Mine, Aerial and Well Well Said The Rocking Chair. Other stand out tracks include Company, S & M, and The Deli Song. Also recommended, Songs For Grown Ups from 2000 (He autographed ...
Advantages: Excellent modern psychobilly/rockabilly Disadvantages: Good follow up to debut, but not as good as Hell Yeah
...psychobilly purists may not find Bring It On to be as straightforward as any of the releases of the Nekromantix (Kim Nekroman's other band) but anybody wishing to take a break from generic stomping sounds will definitely find something rewarding here. Although the Horrorpops psychobilly roots show through here on such songs as "Walk Like A Zombie" and "Freaks in Uniform". ...
Advantages: Excellent backing tracks, competent vocals, a couple of strong pop hits Disadvantages: Not much in the way of soul, some dull tracks, all rather dated now
...on soul music. A String of Pearls Going back to my dad’s old Sanyo radio cassette recorder there was a song which was oft played by myself back in 1974 called “Guilty”. Performed by the Pearls I loved it and have vague recollections of a Top of the Pops performance which incorporated judges’ wigs. I have hunted high and low for this clip on the internet and sadly can only conclude it was wiped, as so many “Top of the Pops” episodes were prior ... ...that their compilation CD “A String of Pearls” had to be worth a punt if only to reminisce about my childhood. The album has 24 tracks, including all singles and B-sides the girls recorded. To the best of my knowledge the Pearls never released an album in the seventies so there are no obvious “album tracks” but there are several curiosities if you are familiar with music from the early 1970s. The overall sound is of close harmonies and pseudo Phil ...
Advantages: a great front cover Disadvantages: Doesn't hae any song lyrics with it
I love Elvis Presley soooooo much. i'm even named after his daughter. His legend and his music still live on today amd remain with us till the end of mankind. In my opinion i would suggest this cd to anybody because it is a really good cd. He is definately number 1 after all this time and will remain in my heart as number for the rest of my life. I was brought up listening to Elvis Presley and i've always been a big fan.
All of his cd's are very ...
Advantages: MOst creative thing I've heard in a long time! Disadvantages: I wish there were more songs!
Brilliant!!! This whole concept is amazing! The Sex Presleys take some of Elvis' best songs, rearrange them, and play them as if the Sex Pistols would have played them. It's a bizarre and fantastic mix that rocks even harder than the Sex Pistols did... really! I've been grabbing for this cd over my "Never Mind the Bullocks" for the past few weeks. "Teddy Bear" takes "Anarchy in the UK" and makes it move and rock way harder than the Pistols ever did. ... ...with "Pretty Vacant" for what I think is the best song on the disc. It starts out with a huge sounding version of "Pretty Vacant" then launchers you into a wild Elvis ride that you have to listen to again and again.
"Heartbreak Hotel" is layered over "God Save the Queen" and works so incredibly well that I wouldn't even believe that the two were separate songs and the Sex Presleys version was a weird cover if I wasn't familiar with the material.
