What a terrific cast recording of the 1994Palladium production and one that's guarranted to keep you hooked from the atmospheric opening including evocative thunder ,through the dingy workhouse and on to Fagin's kitchen and leading to the warm and friendly streets of London where urchins need to be aware and the rich can celebrate with all the local Cockneys.
This score is undoubtedly one of Lionel Bart's best and this company can certainly revel in the fact that this recording is of a superior standard....just like the production itself. Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, Pick A Pocket or Two, and WHere Is Love Are just some of the wonderful songs in this show. In fact every number is a winner...Who Will buy, As long As He Needs Me and Oom Pah Pah.
You'll be singing along from start to finish.

Advantages: Great songs, great cast, atmospheric Disadvantages: Only one Oliver used, a few poor tracks
of each that take it in turns to play the roles on stage and I feel it would have been fairer to have used all three on the CD. I assume someone decided it was better to have one voice to provide consistency and continuity, but it was a shame not to have all of them on it.
The Oliver on the CD is Laurence Jeffcoate, but we saw Gwion Wyn Jones and I prefer his voice with its lovely Welsh lilt. Laurence does a good job and sounds suitably angelic, especially in Where Is Love? But I do feel Gwion is better.
Overall though, the 2009 Londoncast are excellent and I love this CD and would definitely recommend it. If you?ve seen the show yourself, it will bring back lots of wonderful memories. If you haven?t seen it, you?ll wish you had!
The 2009 LondonCast Recording of Oliver! is available from Amazon UK for £8.98. The artwork is well ...
Advantages: cheap, easy to use Disadvantages: can be messy!
'm also not sure why I decided to use Loreal Casting to do so, but I did, and I'm really glad of it.
This was the first brand of dye that I used, and I was really pleased with the results. I have since tried other brands - Garnier Nutrisse and I think one by Wella - but I've always came back to this brand, as I find it's the easiest to use and gives the best and longest lasting results.
~~About the dye~~
This hair dye is a tone on tone gel colourant and contains no ammonia.
It promises to give Natural looking colour and ultra-shiny highlights.
This will cover first greys
The box states that this will last up to 6 weeks with no visible roots, but I have found it to last something nearer to 10 weeks.
~~Packaging and contents~~
This comes in a pink box which is very similar to the one pictured, although I believe the one shown ...
