Talking Heads are one of my all time favourite bands, with their own distinctive sound.
They were formed in thr late seventies coming in at the end of the punk era. Their music was a complete break from everything else at the time. They continued to release albums until the mid eighties and produced the soundtrack to the film Wall Street.

1. Psycho Killer. A funky bouncing track.
2. Take Me To The River. A slow groove. Good for chillout time.
3. Once In A Lifetime. Taken from the Wall Street soundtrack.
4. Burning Down The House. Lots of synth and drum machine. Once covered by Tom Jones (!) and the Cardigans.
5. This Must Be The Place. Another slow chillout tune.
6. Slippery People (Live). A darker slightly jazzy tune.
7. Life During Wartime (Live) A faced paced, almost dance track.
8. And She Was. An upbeat song about a woman on an acid trip.
9. Road To Nowhere. An almost joyous song about the end of life the universe and everything.
10. Wild Wild Life. A lively, cheerful song.
11. Blind. Another slightly darker song.
12. Nothing But Flowers.A happy tune withe a little latin feeling.
13. Sax And Violin. An abstract mix of different sounds. Used in the film Until The End Of The World.
14. Lifetime Piling Up. A real eighties tune.
Apart from Take Me To The River (written by Al Green), all the lyrics were written by lead singer David Byrne.
Their music is a mix of many different sounds, from reggae to funk to electro and everything else in between.
If you have never listened to Talking Heads before, this album is a great introduction to their music. If you are already a fan then you know how good they are and what to expect from them.
