Mickeys once and twice upon a christmas.

Advantages: Thoroughly enjoyable for the big and little kids!
Disadvantages: none!

Mickeys once upon a christmas is a very traditionel collection of cartoon stories all the old characters are there enducing that all important warm fuzzy feel good factor. Mickys twice upon a christmas is a twist on the original. An up to date version of stories all with fresh new jokes, aimed at the more mature Disney fan!!!(me) Thoroughly enjoyable and even though all the old characters are there, many more are included, including plutos son and new girlfriend (god i feel old!) And no longer restricted to the traditional animation methods the second of the two films is entirely computer generated which only adds to the viewing enjoyment. Both films are thoroughly enjoyable and in my house are appreciated by adults and children alike! ...

Once Upon a Time This Would Have Been Better

Advantages: Pullman's creative style / Detailed World / Reliving some of the HDM Magic
Disadvantages: Short and Insignificant Story / Lack of real interraction between the two main characters

Philip Pullman is a man of great talent. A man so focused on giving his readers something that little bit extra than your average author. His worlds are rich in detail and his characters, greatly developed and life like. Often compared to CS Lewis, he is a man with countless works to his name, which sadly are underrated. His latest book, Once Upon a Time in the North, revisits the world best known from His Dark Materials Trilogy. It is in fact a sort of prequel to Northern Lights (The Golden Compass), but with only 104 pages, does it have enough substance to capture the attention of his loyal fan base? This short fantasy story tells the tale of how the widely popular and arguably important characters of Lee Scoresby and Iorek Byrnison meet. Texan Aeronaut Lee Scoresby and his Hare Daemon Hester are running out of provisions and so ...

Once Upon a Forest

Advantages: Brilliant sunday afternoon movie
Disadvantages: Illustration is not as cutting edge as movies made in 2008

A beautiful family story, perfect for rainy sunday afternoons. I first watched this film when I was about 8 years old, I'm 21 now and still love it. The film tells the story of 3 woodland friends living in Dapplewood Forest who are on an adventure to find another meadow in order to help save a little badger called Michelle. It also provides a strong message to children watching to look after their environment and how important friends and family are. The animation is perfect, admittedly not as cutting edge as something created in 2008, but it is still a lovely watch. Once Upon a Forest is suitable for even the youngest children and every child can relate to at least one of the characters - Abigail was always my favourite! ...
