One Classic Night (Live) - Chaka Khan

Advantages: Excellent lyrics that mean a lot to the writers and some brilliant guest singers
Disadvantages: too long till the next one

...As most hip-hop and rap listeners know, De La Soul are one of the forefront leaders of this field, originally debuting with '3 feet high and rising' in 1988 their style has differed across the last four albums and this one is no different. They have been quiet for a little while but this return just proves that the quality has not waned over the years. The album is the first in a set of three art:official intelligent albums planned and gives the listener a taste of what is too be expected of them. the style of the album as a whole is very relaxed never needing to resort to the usual overuse of profanities, rather choosing to lure us with smooth vocals that really let us know how they feel, and this can be seen with the guests of chaka khan (legend), tash, busy bee and of course themselves. ...I write this opinion as I listen to this soundtrack, the best time I think. This is definitely one for the girls. If you liked Bridget Jones` Diary the movie then I'm sure you will love this as well. Its got a great variety of tracks on it from old classics to pieces especially written to go along with the film. Its a very laid back album and I feel its great for chilling out to. I often have it on in the background when I'm working, so I guess its good for that to.
