We?ve all seen a few swords drawn in Japan over the years and this Asian Extreme film won?t be the last to flash the steel. But what I like about this particular one-winner of the Japanese 2003 Oscar for best film-is the way it brings you the everyday life of the Samurai assassins by fleshing out the people under the kimonos as well as the legend. All too often it?s just a lot of swishing razor sharp blades, rolling heads and not so clever ancient sayings, although there are a few rolling heads here if that?s your thing.
The downfall of the Samurai is a well trodden path on celluloid, the Last Samurai with Tom Cruise being a particularly pleasing version from Hollywood, although the title gave that particular one away somewhat. Flutter.com is one of the many betting sites now available to armchair gamblers, so why choose it above all the others?
