Advantages: Great fun, well constructive songs that make you wanna dance Disadvantages: Some may argue that it lacks varity. I don't!
...the lyrics well enough to decipher what half of it's about but apparently he's talking about an ideal man! The organ provides much of the ska beats here which I like and it contains one of the few what I would call 'proper' full length guitar solos. Nice.
"Naked City" - An absolute beauty this one. Fast, fun and straight to the point. The bridge is a slower build up the to the chant of 'SKA, SKA, SKA, SKA' at which point the song proper kicks back in and I would imagine if performed live would bring about some absolutely manic, and possible dangerous, skank pits! Oh how I wanna see the Toasters live.
"Recrimination" - One of only two songs I'm aware of with lyrics involving monkeys on backs (the other being Pulps - "The Fear") "Recrimination" is a fun enough song. Not perfect though.
"Razor Cut" - I like this. It has a second vocalist...

Advantages: great live, great songs. Disadvantages: not so good for those who weren't there.

■The Concert■
The album 'Bullet In A Bible' is recorded from over the two days of gigantic performances at the Milton Keynes Bowl on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of June 2005. This was the final set of shows on their massive tour of the UK. They had done some smaller shows in January and February the same year but these shows were on a whole new level. Performing to a huge audience of 65,000 adoring fans on each day these were certainly shows to remember and fortunately for those who were there, they can remember it with ease after the release of 'Bullet in a Bible' which contained the songs from over the weekend.
■The DVD■
The DVD is a stunning video of the concerts which allow you to reminisce...

Advantages: Well-produced Disadvantages: Flat and uninspiring

The question, however, with every release since about 1992, has always been and continues to be: Does this new album match up to their classic albums "The First Chapter" and "Children"?
Certainly with their two albums they made in the mid to late 90s this was not the case. Then they suddenly returned to form with 2001's "Aura". And so the question this time round is perhaps a little different: Is the newfound form they discovered with the Aura album maintained on this release?
I would have to say it isn't- not because this isn't decent or well-produced music- it's just that their new album, "God is a Bullet", sounds a little... well, flat.
The first track of the new album, Still Deep Waters...
