Advantages: Superb location and communal areas Disadvantages: Hotel rooms being allowed to deteriorate
, was dirty, the tap didn\'t work and everything was just looking a little tired. The main room area, was very much the same, the windows were dirty, the curtains were worn, the pelmet was slightly torn and all in all, it was not what I had expected / hoped for from the WaldorfAstoria. Luckily, when visiting New York, very little time is spent in the hotel, and we had a fantastic holiday, and the superb location of the hotel was a bonus for the sightseeing as it is so well placed for most of the main attractions. It was just such a shame, that a hotel, with a reputation like this one is being allowed to deteriorate. Obviously all the money is being spent in the communal areas, which will obviously encourage people to stay (it worked with us), however, for us it will not be a hotel of choice for our next trip. ...
Advantages: A brightly illustrated book, great for pre-school children. Disadvantages: None
☼☼☼ One, Two, Three?. Jump! ☼☼☼
This is a lovely book for young children. It begins with a description of a dragonfly that could see front, back and sideways, in fact all of the garden.
The little frog sitting in between large stones was a little green with envy and wanted to be somewhere else, to see other things just like the dragonfly. He wanted to jump.
?One, two, three??.. jump!?
The frog jumped as far as he could and ended up on the garden path. The dragonfly warned him that this wasn?t a great place to be. The frog disagreed and thought it was exciting but unbeknown to him there was a large wellington boot heading his way.
?Just jump-quick!?

This time he ended up under a big leaf amidst a host of flowers and plants. He loved this as the things waved ...
Advantages: 5 Star hotel in central location Disadvantages: Some areas could be improved upon
good, but my own choice of cocktail would have been better. This was accompanied by assorted nuts which are served free of charge with the drinks. Unfortunately, drinks are pricey and I think that afternoon for three cocktails and three beers, we probably spent about £40. All in all though, the cocktail bar does have a good atmosphere. They also serve high tea here, which, although I deemed it to be expensive, did look to be delicious with a variety of sandwiches and cakes being served on a tiered serving dish.
We also ate one evening at the WaldorfAstoria's steakhouse - the Bull and Bear. We had a nice meal here, and the service was top notch. We've found that wine in the US is more expensive than you'd pay here in the UK for a bottle, even if you're looking at ordering American wine such as something from California. You could ...
