Advantages: Consistent quality Disadvantages: Little variation
?The Lords Of The Underground came out with their second album, ?Keepers of the Funk? in 1994, and as their name suggest, the New Jersey trio (consisting of members DoItAll, Mr. Funke, DJ Lord Jazz) are a underground rap group, and with this record they were really able to take their names into the mainstream.
1. ?Intro?
2. ?Ready Or Not?
They jump straight into it on this one as they show what this album has to offer from the get-go with a tune which references what they came with on their debut, and comments on how exactly they hope to take things forward on this one. It is a fly one, and I felt that it was pretty representative of their music.
**Four Stars**
3. ?Tic Toc?
From the title alone, most Hip Hoppers should associate it with MC Ricky D?s classic words on ?La Di Da Di?, and this is just what you get for the hook ...
Advantages: An amazing book, you will be spell bound! Disadvantages: NONE!
This book actually lost me, it was one of the BEST i have ever read, yes including harry potter! plus just as good as her first in the trilogy, Inkheart. Her style of writing and use of imaginative words completely draws you into the book and story. It is the follow up for Inkheart where meggy and her father Mo, aka:Silvertongue, who can read people, creatures and objects out of books. Along with a mass of other characters, the two other main bein Dustfinger, a fire eater stuck in the wrong world, and Farid, Dustfingers follower, a teenage boy from Arabia, who has learnt all Dustfingers tricks whilst being also stuck in the wrong world.
Meggy has finally got her mother back from the Inkworld however she longs to go to the Inkworld and expericence it for herself, all the wonderful creatures and characters, places and adventures ...
Advantages: Vivid worlds, characters and storyline created to entice the reader. Disadvantages: Too long at times, too many characters to digest.
to complete it. But what I loved most about this book was the fact that all the chapters are short, consisting of no more than 10 pages each. I guess I could use the excuse of if I read a chapter a night, it will take me a good 59 nights (2 months).
At the back of the book, it consists of a short interview with the author, Cornelia Funke. This was a good idea as you get to know the person behind the book a little bit more. Also, I thought it was a fantastic idea that there is a page of characters' descriptions (Who's who); a general book quiz; What do you know about Martens? (a special animal in the book); the history of bookbinding (relevant to the job of the main character) as well as a taster of the second instalment 'Inkspell'.
