I have been a fan of Bon Jovi for some time now and have always found the concert or live performances to be of a high standard so you can imagine my excitement when I found out there was a live album out!!!
Released on the 14th May 2001 it contains 15 tracks from 1998 to 2001 taken from their numerous world tours. From Zurich to Tokyo, London to New York and Toronto to Melbourne with tracks from Yokohama and Johannesburg too this album encapsulates, for me, everything that live rock concerts are about. The atmosphere, the interaction with the crowd and the energy is all there in this album.
Many of Bon Jovi’s famous tracks are here: “Livin’ on a Prayer”, “Keep the Faith”, and “You give Love a Bad Name”. Plus the most recent ones: “It’s My Life” and “One Wild Night”. There is also a special appearance from Sir Bob Geldof singing, “I don’t like Mondays” (a cover of the Boomtown Rats’ classic) from Wembley in 1995. Sadly, the ones I miss most on the album are, “Bed of Roses”, “Always”, “Shot through the Heart”, “Blaze of Glory” and “Thank you for Loving me”. But don’t let that detract from an otherwise great album.
The tracks included on this album are:
“It’s my life” – 2000
“Livin’ on a prayer” – 2000
“You give love a bad name” – 2000
“Keep the faith” – 2000
“Someday I’ll be Saturday night” – 1995
“Rockin’ in the free world” – 1995
“Something to believe in” – 1996
“Wanted dead of alive” – 2000
“Runaway” – 1985
“In and out of love” – 1985
“I don’t like Mondays” (feat Bob Geldof) – 1995
“Just older” – 2000
“Something for the pain” – 1995
“Bad medicine” – 2000
“One wild night” –
The single, “One Wild Night”, is the title track of their new and first live album of the same name. It has been specially re-mixed by top rock producer Dave Bascombe and is the only studio recording on the album. The track 'One Wild Night' was originally featured on the bands hugely successful 'Crush' album, which was released last year.
I find myself listening to it over and over again, maybe it says more about me than the album, but it is class and well worth getting!! Available on Island Def Jam/Mercury records it is out now.

*jumping up and down in glee* I'm going to see em in Dublin in 2 weeks :) Yipee! And I get paid tomorrow so I can splash out on this album :) (but I already have most of the songs from ahem... bootlegs... ahem)
One Wild Night? Well, that's not strictly true, as this live album was recorded on several ... more
