Advantages: Great Live Album With Some Great Performances Disadvantages: Not The Ideal First Album To Buy If Your Not A Poison Fan
...After three albums Poison decided to release a live album. Swallow This Live takes you on a journey that charters the real Poison, Raw, Uncensored and very live. Twelve live tracks and four bonus studio tracks and you have got Poison at their best.
Having reviewed their first three albums, I won't bore you with rundowns of the live tracks, if you want to know more about them you can read my reviews entitled 'Long Legs And Short Skirts' on Look What The Cat Dragged In, 'Out Of The Car Long Hair' on OpenUp And SayAhh and 'Saddle Iron Horses Of Chrome' on Flesh & Blood.
I will however list the live tracks, their individual length, plus the album the respective song is on and give you more detailed information on the four bonus studio tracks.
Here's a track listing for the live tracks:

Advantages: Great All Round Album Disadvantages: Doesn't Have Enough Tracks
...This is the second album from Poison and their biggest selling to date, mixes fast paced songs and ballads superbly. This album really established Poison in America and in the UK.
Here's a run down of the tracks:
1. Love On The Rocks
Has a slow paced opening riff, which continues through the song as the rhythm. Has good lead notes/chords played over the rhythm and a good solo. Lyrics are good are make this pretty decent opening track.
2. Nothin' But A Good Time
Has a great opening riff, which moves some medium paced heavy sounding rhythm. Has an immaculately composed solo, which really makes the song. Great lyrics round it off brilliantly.
3. Back To The Rocking Horse
Has a screeching sounding opening riff with purposeful rhythm combined. Rhythm is medium paced with lead notes over the top. The solo is up and down and combines quick...

Advantages: Exceptional Lead Guitaring Disadvantages: Not Enough Songs
...After the success of the 'OpenUp And SayAhh' album, Poison changed pace to bring you 'Flesh & Blood' their third album and in my opinion their best. It differs from their previous two albums in the sense that it moves away from the Glam rock sound to give more of a 'classic' rock sound. This album has the perfect mixture of slow and fast paced ballads as well as classic rock anthems, to make it a great mellowing album
Here's a rundown of the tracks:
1. Strange Days Of Uncle Jack
A rather weird instrumental to start, that charts the eerie sound each member of the band can get from their respective instruments. Overall weird, but good experimentation.
2. Valley Of Lost Souls
After the rather weird start you get one of the best songs on the album. The progressive fast paced opening riff is cool, moving into some great sounding rhythm...
