Advantages: Great first album, good introduction to country Disadvantages: None
Wide Open Spaces
If you?re looking for a great starter country album then look no further than Wide Open Spaces by The Dixie Chicks. It?s a great introduction if you have never really listened to country before and are not really a fan of the old classics yet, like Dolly Parton, etc, but want to experience a bit of the blue grass, country and that whole scene and get into the music. This album offers you upbeat, toe tapping, yee-hawing, classic story telling country with a new modern, sexy twist.
The Dixie Chicks is made up of three females, Martie Maguire, Natalie Maines and Emily Robison. They are the highest grossing female band in the US, selling over 36 million albums as of March 2009! They actually formed in 1989 with a different formation but did not release their debut album, Wide Open Spaces, until 1998.

Advantages: Brillant stuff Disadvantages: one or two lacking tracks
Evanescence:The Open Door
Evanescence a well know heavy metal'gothic' band (Although I wouldn't put the gothic in there') First released their debut album 'Fallen' in 2003 and followed that up with their live DVD 'Anywhere But Home' in 2004. In 2006 with Wind-UP Records they released this album 'The Open Door.'
In my oppinion it is a great album, although I do prefer their previous album 'Fallen'.
Their tracks 'Lithium' and 'Call Me When You're Sober' both have Music video's which are to a great standard.

Advantages: Great songs, great vocals, lovely album cover Disadvantages: "Your Star"
As a big fan of Evanescence's first major album "Fallen", back in 2003, I had high expectations for "The Open Door". When I found out in the summer that they had a new album coming out, I could barely wait until October, and scoured the internet searching for pre-release reviews of the long-awaited record.
And when I finally got it, I was not disappointed. I enjoyed it on the first listen through, but on the second and then the third (and so on), I loved it! A lot of the songs are very good, and in my view, there's only one track that lets the album down, which is "Your Star".
Having read the other reviews on here for this CD, I was quite surprised at the response from the reviewers and the comments received, and I seem to be alone in my view that this was a great album! Nevertheless, I shall continue with this review in an effort ...
