Advantages: Relaxing, beautiful album, introduction to opera Disadvantages: May not be of some taste
...I'm 18 years old with a vast taste in music, from garage to world music. I was given this CD by my brother and immediately thought it would not be my cup of tea. I proven instantly wrong. The general sound of the CD could perhaps be regarded as traditional opera, however since it features a backing beat and more soothing I'd classify it as nu genre.
The CD is part of the Cafe del mar series. A series with a great reputation for producing quality relaxing music. They are not commercial relaxing releases but are genuinly music that could be found in Spain. 3. Secret Tear
4. Dido
5. Pace Pace
6. Pamina Blue
7. Habanera

Advantages: Fresh Tracks from Metals Heavy Hitters!! Disadvantages: None
...This 40-track double CD compilation showcases the cream of the current crop, with heavy emphasis on US acts. There's a definite bias towards the thrashier, trashier end of metal this is heavyweight genre stuff. There's not much humour in evidence either; this type of music takes itself deadly seriously.
It isn't all ranting and raging; for every Hatebreed and Spineshank there's a Lacuna Coil or an Ill Niño, and the latter's When It Cuts is one of the high points of the album.
As with any compilation, there's good and bad, and enough variation to avoid pleasing anyone all of the time. But with 40 tracks for the price of a single CD, this is one Ball worth getting dressed up for!
Can you really ask for more?...
