Advantages: excellent tracks Disadvantages: may already have some of the tracks
...I only got into the Levellers by accident, I heard a band doing cover versions of their songs. I went and bought the Cd even though I didn't really know much about them.
To my surprise I found the Cd very good, they are able to change tempo and styles of songs with great ease and I would not like to name a bad track on the entire Cd.
Some new mixes have been added, "Hope street" "one way" "carry me" and the 12" versin of "too real", separate thes from the standard albums.
This Cd should appeal to fans old and new, I have certainly found it an excellent way of getting into the Levellers, and will now be buying more of their records in the future.
I would say this is good value for money and is definetly worth a listen....

Advantages: A handful of memorable songs Disadvantages: It does almost exactly what it says on the tin
...Staind – 14 Shades Of Grey
Like so many bands before them, Staind released an album so close to perfection within it’s genre that they will never better or equal that album. Nirvana with Nevermind (although In Utero is an amazing album) and Oasis with What’s The Story? (Morning Glory) are two such examples and now Staind can be added to that list. Break The Cycle was a journey of emotive music which captured everything that a good album should do. The combination of lyrics, music, vocals and the story each song and the album as a whole tell made Break The Cycle one of my favourite albums ever. But what about the latest addition?
Cover/Sleeve;
On first appearances this is one of the least appealing albums to look at. A plain grey sleeve with Staind etched so lightly into the centre you would miss it if you didn’t look hard...

Advantages: One of their best tracks is included. Disadvantages: Quite a bit of dross.
...Levellers, The Levellers.
This was the Levellers third album. The Levellers, by the time this had been released, had been a band for nearly five years, though their original vocalist left after album number 1, they were certainly getting well known outside of the punky/celtic/festival scene that was their origins. I certainly remember seeing them in London in 1990 and they had built up quite a following of students, squatters and festival goers.
This album for me marked a bit of a change in direction and, in my opinion is not as good as the first album 'A Weapon called the Word', or the 2nd album, 'Levelling the Land'. It is almost like they have got better and more polished, yet lost something along the way. That being said, there are some cracking tracks as I will divulge shortly.
