Advantages: Powerful beats mixed perfectly with soaring melodies. Amazing! Disadvantages: Not for the faint hearted!
...Alexisonfire have brought out another astonishing album. The maturity and development from their previous album "Watch Out" is clear. Personally, i was gripped from the first song, where Wade MacNeil claims "This is from our hearts!" The emotion is obvious and powerful. George Pettit's harsh voice blends perfectly with Dallas Green's amazing melodic lyrics makign this album the best I've heard for a long time. The Ontario band are down to earth and realistic, this can be gathered from all of their songs. This album will force listeners to sing along and have the tune in their head for weeks. If there was a criticism, it may be that the song "You burn first," breaks up the album and dampens the tone. However, it is still an amazing album, and highly recommended to anyone who loves a wide range of music. Perfect for listeners of Emo...

Advantages: Perfect mix of melodic and harsh vocals, great lyrics, great musically Disadvantages: None
...the vocals of Wade MacNeil as well as Dallas & Pettit. This makes for a brilliant vocal approach on the song. I'd like to see the band use the three of them more on songs in the future.
"To A Friend" like almost all the songs on starts off fast paced with the drumming really standing out again. Another catchy chorus in this song.
The album closer "Rough Hands" is one of the more mellow songs on the cd. The song begins featuring the vocals of Dallas, and slowly builds up in pace a bit like "Sharks and Danger" on the previous cd. This is a perfect closer to the cd.
Overall this cd is really good, and the best thing alexisonfire has had to offer so far. Would go as far to say its better then the previous cd "Watch Out". I would recommend this cd to anyone looking to get into Alexisonfire or is in to Emo, Punk, Rock or Metal music. I would say...

Advantages: Wonderful, blissfully fascinating Disadvantages: too short!
...It's been too long since Enya's last album, The Memory of Trees. She does seem to take her time between albums, which I suppose isn't too surprising given that her work is all original; no covers, and I imagine all those effects and multi-layering takes time to record. Anyway, A Day Without Rain doesn't disappoint, apart from its relative brevity in these days of 16 - 20 tracks on most albums, and playing times of around an hour. It's surprising, therefore, that this has only twelve tracks. Nevertheless, it has twelve *quality* tracks. Wild Child is possibly the most 'commercial' here, and it's very good; I tend to prefer tracks such as Flora's Secret - wonderful imagery of the lovers in the long grass - and Only Time. Great to listen to: close your eyes and be carried away! Oh, and so what if this CD sounds similar to Enya's previous...
