The underground has had a line drawn through the sand, on one side you have the haircut brigade, happier to make their name on myspace than getting on the road and playing to as many people as they possibly can. On the other you have those embracing the punk rock ethic, who will play with anyone, anywhere and with all they've got. There is no real groundbreaking element about Gallows, you have heard bands doing a similar thing before, this could break many bands but what Gallows have is the pure visceral energy to back up the riffs and screams. Every lyric screamed, you know is screamed with intent. Every riff played, you know it is with gusto and most importantly, every track you hear, you know it's played with love for what they are doing.
These guys are gonna be massive!

Review of Orchestra Of Wolves - Gallows
Advantages: Loud, a scream of rage, intelligent, proper punk Disadvantages: Bad language, screamed vocals
Universally loved because of their explosive live show and their punk ideals, Gallows have been described as being a "rough-arsed howl of rage", and this reissue of their debut album shows that indeed they are.
Vicious guitar riffs and screamed vocals are not new, though they do it well and the lyrics are confrontational and angry.
Formed in Watford in early 2005, the quintet's members cut their teeth playing in various local punk bands before ... ...of their live work, this album was originally released in September last year and got rave reviews. They did a UK headline tour in March and then impressed at SXSW in Texas.
Opening song "Kill the rhythm" is about partying hard: "We're gonna party until we're dead on our feet / We don't f~~~ about / Say what we think / Won't stop till everyone screams".
"Come friendly bombs" is an angry scream at the boredom of life: "The same faces the same release ...

Advantages: Some strong tracks are contained within this album. Disadvantages: Much of the album is disappointing and lacks life.
Gallows are a hardcore punk band from Watford. Their début album 'Orchestra of Wolves' was originally released through the UK independent label In At The Deep End Records, however in July 2007 Bad Religion's Brett Gurewitz gave it a US release through Epitaph Records. Since then the band have signed a million pound four album recording contract with major label Warner Bros, and have resultantly re-released their 'Orchestra of Wolves' album through the label. In November 2007 the album was granted with a 'Special Edition' release and therefore this is the latest (and greatest) incarnation of the album 'Orchestra of Wolves'.
So why buy the special edition? It's not just worth owning for the pretty pink cover you know, it certainly makes the album a more attractive prospect but in truth it is the extra tracks that make this edition ...
Advantages: Character, passion, balls to the wall Disadvantages: none
Enough kaiser cheifs, kasabian and other bands that don't start with a 'k', that stuff is repetitve, soulless pap. sit down and listen to some passion, put some fire in your stereo and remember what music is supposed to be. This debut album from Gallows should be on the curriculum. There are lots of 'bands' out now who are simply a money making vehicle for the devil and his minions so when you hear an album that people actually worked on it makes you feel good.
You can tell from the first 10 seconds of the opening track, 'Kill the Rhythm' that this band mean business. You can almost see the 5 piece attacking the stage and winding up the crowd until wherever they are playing is just a scene of real energy. US bands have had a bit of a grip on the punk scene of late so when a UK band come along we tend to get overexcited about them ...

Album Notes
Reissue of ferocious debut album from critically-lauded Watford punks whose punishing live shows built an unstoppable momentum which culminated in them being hailed as the best new act of 2006 and signing deals with Epitaph and Warner Bros. An amalgam of UK, Euro and US hardcore styles with a melodic bent and a furious, uncompromising lyrical stance, this is a record well deserving of its reputation. Includes the single 'Abandon Ship'.
