This is an album that grows on you. First time I heard it, I thought, OK, who gave this guy a kick in an area that should never be kicked? From start to finish its full of crescendoes and surprises. The best track is Plug in baby, a loud, infectious tune which sees Bellamy howling at the top of his skinny lungs. It has one of those choruses that could have you screaming it if you go to see them in concert.New Born is pretty impressive too, starting with quiet breathiness, and then ascends into a loud, crunchy guitar rhythm you could bite into. Bliss is a sweet love song with loud guitars as opposed to sappy melodies. Quite a change from the usual dross that some indie-poppers chuck out. However stuck up Bellamy may be, he sure knows how to write and play music. Its something that the Stereophonics will never have, thats for sure!
