AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! WOOOOOOW!!!!! YYEEEAAAAHHHHHH!!!! are just a few of the words i like to say when listening to this album. Muse are the greatest prog rockers ever and have brought new ranges to rock. The three-piece from Teignmouth in England have been compared to Radiohead very early on in their career and were dismissed as just walking in Radiohead's shadows. However after people started atending gigs it started to become apparent that they were going to be regarded in the same league as them. Since 1997 when they first merged their way into the music industry Muse have been going from strength to strength. Anyway enough about the band, more on the album... Throughout this album Matt Bellamy's voice soares through epic realms of enchantment while his guitar riffs are ruggid, original, eratic, and melodious all at the same time. Chris' bass is some sort of beast trying to say this is how you do it, and dom's drumming is as ever raging on as he jumps into hyper space! I mean this album made Muse who they are and i have changed many peoples mind about them when they hear this album. I will get into the tracks: New born - the all famous calming piano intro is a perfect introduction to the album, then the guitar riff slices it's way in and takes over the show. Absolutely brilliant song as it is live! Bliss - one of my fav's, original keyboard styles make the blue print for this song as the bass takes over Space dementia - Matts fingers must have been eroding as they danced all over that piano in this song Hyper music - exactly as the title says Plug in baby - the song that got me into Muse, i will never forget the day i heard the famous riff and started moshing in my room! Citizen erased - An underated titanic song of great proportions, from one extreme to the other in this heavy-soothing song Micro cuts - Not my fav but seems to go down well at concerts especially at the heavy outro Screenager - Not amazing but does show the bends lengths and what they can produce Darkshines - Great song and very catchy Feeling good - another song that made Muse, this cover of Nina Simones version has been rated one of the best covers, listen to find out why Megalomania - a great ending to an album which has shown me my first real taste of good music
A must have in any cd collection!
