...As a proud owner of this album myself I can tell you that by buying it you will not be dissapointed. As an avid fan of 60's music myself, yet not from that era myself, i was as eager as anyone to get my hands on this product regardless! Personally I enjoyed tracks 3,7, and 9 best. Some of the good old classics! Admittedly the other ones may have been slightly poorly chosen, but I assume it was some poor uneducated survey collector somewhere who was asked to choose them. Regardless of this I think it is an excellent album. When the album itself was delivered to me it arrived promptly and in good condition, I am just saying this because i had concerns it may have had been bodged, fortunately I was mistaken .... Advantages: A great album, thathas bought back many pleasant memories
Disadvantages: A pity there a not 100 songs available

...My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the songs contained in this album. Although I was bought up in Australia & my wife in Wales, both of us recalled every song. The amazing thing was after 40 years we knew every song word for word. The album consists of 2 CD's with 60 songs, from artist in UK, Australia and USA. We have a number of LP records that include the songs contained in the album, but we can't play them. The fact that they are all on a CD brings life in 2005 to 60's hits. Hits that would be lost forever if it wasn't for modern technology. We highly recommend this album to those who can remember the 60's and want to relive those great days.... Read review

Advantages: Original songs well-written and played
Disadvantages: Couple of weak tracks

...Above all others, this CD is definitely The Kinks at their very best. Their enthusiasm for their music clearly shows through. Penned by Ray Davies, the songs still have as much appeal, to music fans of that era, as they did when they were first recorded back in the 60's. Four particular songs stand head and shoulders above the rest: 'You Really Got Me', purely for its foot-stomping, four-chord rhythm. 'Lola' which shocked a generation that had never before heard lyrics about a transvestite on a record before. 'Dedicated Follower of Fashion' which accurately summed up fashion-concious London in the Sixties. Lastly, and arguably the best, 'Waterloo Sunset'. Hearing those descending notes on the guitar from the opening bars, you know instantly that you are going to hear a great song. One that, once heard, will never be forgotten... Read review
