...The Dick Van Dyke Show was a classic of its kind. Every week people would hurry home to see what shenanigans Dick Van Dyke (Rob Petrie) his wife Laura and their brat sorry! Cute little tyke Ritchie would get up to. It started in 1961 and ran until 1966. Rob was a writer for a comedy TV show and he shared an office with fellow writers Buddy Sorrell (Morey Amsterdam) and Sally Rogers (Rose Marie). They worker under the watchful eye of sarcastic programme producer Mel Cooley (Richard Deacon) For some reason as a child my favourite character was Mel Cooley. The slightly daffy neighbours Jerry and Millie Helper (Jerry Paris and Ann Morgan Guilbert) also add to the madness. ...≈♫♪≈♪≈♫♪≈ GROUND FORCE ? BLACK DYKE BAND ≈♫♪≈♪≈♫♪≈ Ground Force has long been one of my favourite TV programmes. With a keen interest in gardening and landscaping there is nothing more enjoyable than sitting down to watch Ground Force. Imagine if you can take that enjoyment a step further and extend it to times other than when Ground Force is on television. Of course you could go out and buy a few series on DVD????. Or you can buy the soundtrack on CD. I bought the Ground Force soundtrack around five years ago and it has remained one of my favourite CD?s to listen to, particularly when I am feeling a bit stressed or tired. It is very easy listening and relaxing and at the same time as creating such an air or serenity... Read review

...the familiarity of the ice cream van and the crowds will take you to the striking landscape of the Dyke and for a little effort you really feel that you are part of a quite awe inspiring landscape. I've suggested a route for a walk further on in the review. ~~~What is Devil's Dyke?~~~ Devil's Dyke is a steep-sided, dry valley. Its not clear what its geographical origins are, but it may have been formed by glacial meltwaters during the Ice Age. The alternative story is that the devil dug it as part of a trench leading to the sea so that he could flood the Weald and destroy its churches.
