Advantages: Fantastic Full-Length Dance Classics Disadvantages: A few substandard fillers...
...)
In defense of rap: "You critizie our method of how we make records, You said it wasn't art, so now we're gonna rip you apart" Eloquent rap.
5. "Who's da bad man" - Dee Patten (SoundSystem mix)
This 1992 track with its a deep dub-styled bassline and distinctive vocal (sampled from the Jamaican movie "The Harder They Come", allegedly) was a kind of Jungle-seed, from which a whole genre sprouted.
6. "I know you got soul" - Eric B and Rakim
Another sample-tastic all time classic, including a Jackson 5 snippet, and , of course, itself the source for MARRS "Pump op the volume" sample. What goes around comes around....
7. "A knife and a fork" - Think Tank (frisco disco mix)
What an odd song...
8. "It takes 2" - Rob Base and EZ Rock
I think this could have been the start of that whole "whoa - yeah" thing...
9. "Must bee the music" - King Bee...

Advantages: Excellent value, Great Orchestral/Rock/Vocal arrangements. Disadvantages: Not an 'album at the moment'.
...I was first introduced to the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) by my parents and we listened to this album again and again on childhood trips driving down to Cornwall and Devon.I therefore have quite fond memories of this album despite being only a 20 something!
ELO 'Out of the Blue' was published by JET music in 1977. All Music and Lyrics are by Jeff Lynne and the orchestral/choral arrangements are by Jeff Lynne,Richard Tandy and Louis Clark. The album is also produced by Jeff Lynne. The Cover Illustration is by Shusei Nagaoka and the art direction and design by Ria Lewerke with Kosh- this design is great, really 'space age'.Members of the group, among other contributors, include Jeff Lynne,Bev Bevan,Richard Tandy, Kelly Groucutt,Mik Kaminski, Hugh Mcdowell and Melvyn Gale.
'Out of the Blue' is a highly original album which was recorded...

Elo Mr Blue Sky! Review ofAll Over The World (The Very Best Of The Electric Light Orchestra) - ELOby

Advantages: Lots of well known tracks, good british music Disadvantages: None
...by Jeff Lynne, together with accompanying photographs of previous concerts and band line-ups.
*** So would I recommend this album? ***
Yes, most definitely. My personal favourites on this album have to be Mr Blue Sky, Evil Woman, Don't Bring me Down, Sweet Talkin' Woman, Telephone Line, Wild West Hero and Livin' Thing. This is probably because these were some of ELO's biggest hits, had the most airplay, and therefore are the most familiar. But as I mentioned earlier, there will be a lot of tracks on the album that are not instantly recognisable, and I would recommend you have a listen before writing the album off because so many of them will sound familiar once you hear them.
Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy!
