Ulead VideoStudio 8 Complete Package

Advantages: Ease of use, SmartSound, improved audio and titling
Disadvantages: No background rendering, some new features a bit fiddly.

Ulead's Video Studio 8 adds new features to an already highly capable yet easy to use program, it's difficult to see what if anything can be added at this price point that could possibly deserve a whole version jump from 7 to 8. Opening the Box As well as the CD, Ulead Video Studio 8 includes not one but two printed manuals. The first is a user guide to the software. This covers all the basics and helps get you up to speed quickly without being too onerous a read. Also included is a rather neat guide to Digital Video editing in general by Douglas Spotted Eagle (really!). For beginners this is a great read and Ulead deserve a big pat on the back for including this second book. Gerry Marsden keeps on rolling

Advantages: a quality entertainer
Disadvantages: nothing

Gerry & the Pacemakers are still touring and packing out venues as they finish their tour of the UK. I had the privilege of going to a concert by them called an "evening to remember "on ( 2/2/01) at the Whitby pavillion. This venue might only be classed as a small hall but nearly a thousand people packed the pavillion to witness what I can only describe as a fantastic performance by the group. The pacemakers themselves are not the originals from the sixties but that did not matter a jot. The main man himself Gerry Mardsen singer and songwriter is very much an original and he's still got that golden voice he's always had. The other pacemakers had according to Gerry all gone they're seperate ways with Marsden's brother now running a driving school and another of the originals now living in Australia where the band are heading very ...
