Blinking Lights And Other Revelations is Eels' sixth record to date, and possibly his finest work of all. With a unique sound not comparable to any other artist I know of, E has surely confirmed his status as one of the greatest singer-songwriters of his generation.
Blinking Lights plays like a movie; seamless transitions from track to track and a cohesiveness through the whole album makes it an easy listen, though it needs more than a few listens to appreciate the magical arrangements, gorgeous melodies and wry, heartfelt and frank lyricism.

Our hairdresser celebrated her nuptials in Mexico in February last year, undoubtedly the kind of "Exotic Location" that the proposer of this review category had in mind. We were invited, but regrettably had to turn down that invitation having returned from Poland the previous month. As it turned out, with my leg in plaster at the time, I would not have been able to travel all the way to Mexico. Her wedding took place at an all-inclusive five star resort, the ceremony itself taking place on the beech. Exotic indeed.
