...'s more light than any of the others to ween people who have never listened to "The Monkey Man" himself into this sort of music. You'll hear a wide range of influences in this album, including an arabian (or so I think) inspired track, but saying that it was wrote by his guitarist (Aziz Ibrahim) and Ian. Advantages: Top quality recording. If you like straighter rock!
Disadvantages: Straighter rock and less space-rock! Pales in comparison to earlier music!!

...Jethro Tull's ' Ian Anderson' . There was also definitely a very strong Pink Floyd influence .....in fact anyone liking them should really check this band out. Take a listen to the ' Eloy's' ' Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes ' CD and you'll hear some very Gilmour-esque guitarwork in the style of ' Shine on You Crazy Diamond ' . 'RA' is a 1988 recording and one of there mid period releases. Preceeding this one are 14 other albums i believe. I have to say this one, is one of my least favourites of theirs. The earlier ones like ' Inside ' ' Ocean' and ' Floating ' show them at their best , as does the ' live ' double. If you prefer a more straighter, linear rock though you might like ' RA ' better ,but it's really not in the same class as the ones mentioned, although it does have it's moments , like on ' Voyager ' and ' Invasion... ...Mercury is situated closer to the sun than any of the other known and as such has the shortest year in the solar system. The effect of this short year is that from Earth Mercury seams to flit relatively quickly across the heavens, due to this feature Mercury was seen as the winged messenger of the planets. Accordingly this movement is lively and fun. Mercury can be heard flittering and flickering about. The melodic line rises and falls delightfully moving around without any regular pattern. According to Alan Leo, Mercury represents the personalities of earthly life. No 4: Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity This is most played and most recognised of all the movements.
